If you want to fix this issue you will have to install some lightweight acoustic board on the walls and have some carpet covering on each wall.
The coverings on the windows
If the room you want to make as a home movie theater has windows, then it is recommended to cover them in order to block the light and get the atmosphere of a real movie theater. You can also add some curtains with dark colors or install some shades for darkening.
The floor needs to be covered as well if it is from wood, tile or linoleum.
The Lighting
The theaters have a lot of investments in the lighting, in order to control the reflection of the lights. You will also have to provide some funds if you want to have the right lighting for your home movie theater room. Or another option is to have black ceiling with blue wall covering and dark carpet on the floor. This can also help in the lighting contrast that will be provided in the room.
The right balance need to be achieved in order to get the commonly known feeling in watching a movie in a theater. The ambient needs to have the right balance of lighting, no spots or rays that will draw your attention or bother you while watching. You will need perfect atmosphere.
The direction of the light needs also to be well positioned and the room to be lightened appropriately. The control of the lights needs to be in your power so you can control it anytime.
Choosing the Projector
Like any movie room, yours need to have appropriate projector. You can easily find cheap models of HD projectors that will provide image of 100 inches or maybe larger.
